Planning a project that involves installs, moves, adds and changes can be a daunting task, especially across multiple countries and locations.
Orion 247’s experienced smarthands team can provide an end to end solution utilising our Prince2 qualified project managers to ensure a seamless delivery.
From system upgrades, installations, rollouts, datacenter relocations to complete infrastructure refreshes – we are available 24×7, around the globe.
The process of installing hardware and software is a daily occurrence for most businesses. Devices such as, file servers, workstations, desktops, printers, laptops, modems, storage, scanners and switches all need to be installed properly to enable functionality.
Our expert team can install, configure and customise hardware devices in local networks or WAN, and facilitate rollouts of many hundreds of devices across multiple locations. Operating Systems and back office programmes can also be installed and integrated including, WIFI, email systems, VPN, internal company connections, internet services and remote workers’ devices.
Once installations are complete, training can be provided to users to ensure usability and understanding without incurring any additional costs.
The primary aim when moving any equipment is that it is executed in a safe and timely manner with minimum disruption to the user. Orion 247 has the very best transport team, that are experienced in large scale datacenter moves and local office relocations.
Our approach is systematic, safe and efficient. We uninstall all devices, ensure proper packaging, functionality testing, logistics management and installation of devices at their new location. Our priority is to provide a smooth transition from each location, with minimum downtime for all staff.
Additions to improve overall performance
Technology moves at a rate of knots, therefore, additions and upgrades are essential to keep up with advancements. Orion’s IMAC team can perform hardware upgrades (disk drives, monitors, servers and storage), software upgrades, patches, fixes and additions to existing systems.
Our aim is to improve the performance of the system to maximise output and make sure everything is working with maximum functionality.
Changes to improve productivity
Similar to additions, changes within an infrastructure are sometimes essential to improving the overall productivity. Replacement of older, under performing kit will stabilise an environment and avoid reactive firefighting of recurring issues.
Integrated with our ITAD-Redundancy service, we can perform complete system refreshes or replace one or two older items of kit and decommission and securely dispose of the unwanted items.
Being ISO 27001 certified we know how important it is to securely manage business data, including the destruction of unwanted data storage devices. We carry out onsite shredding of hard drives or we can transport the kit offsite for secure and green IT disposal at one of our service centres.
We are fully licensed with the Environment Agency and adhere to the WEEE Directive (relevant directives are followed depending on the country), we also carry a waste carrier licence. On completion of the IT asset destruction, official certificates of disposal are issued, including proof of the disposal of IT assets, including non-hazardous and hazardous waste, such as cables, metals and battery acids.
Our professional IT asset disposal team is available 24x7x365 to de-rack unwanted equipment and ensure safe disposal. We are one of the only IT Asset Disposal Services companies who offer a truly global solution. The Orion 247 services team co-ordinate cross-boundary activities to deliver a standardised service, whilst ensuring that all local legal regulations are followed.
Our team routinely dispose of servers, racks, network equipment, SANs, end-user devices and all cabling and telecoms kit. Not only do we decommission the equipment, but we are also on hand to install and set up the replacement kit.
Our destruction service includes wiping and shredding of all hard drives that contain sensitive data. We use custom-built wiping hardware (Secure EraseR96) that performs CESG certified data erasure (TabernusUK) wiping software. A full report and certificate of the wiping and shredding processes are provided upon completion. This includes photographic evidence and specific details of the drive, such as the serial number, the size and the overall condition.
These destruction and IT asset disposal services can be performed onsite or offsite, in a controlled environment, at one of our service centres.
POS systems are critical to the smooth running of many businesses, especially in the retail, hospitality and leisure industries. Our unique tracking systems mean that we can dispatch an engineer to any location at any time of the day or night. If the repair cannot be done onsite for any reason, the engineer will install a ‘hot spare’ whilst the faulty part is being repaired at one of our service centres.
